Position description

TITLE: Director
REPORTS TO: Director for Parish Life and Leadership

Responsibilities:

1. To serve as a staff resource for the Archbishop, Auxiliary Bishops, Vicar General and Vicars on tasks related to Archdiocesan and parish planning.

2. To execute the charges given to the Office for Research and Planning efficiently and effectively, supervise its staff and interact with other Archdiocesan departments or agencies by providing research and planning services to various units of the Archdiocese.

3. To contribute to ongoing research in the area of Church planning and management and represent the Archdiocese in regional and national organizations whose work could positively impact the work of the Archdiocese of Boston.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Collaborate with all the Archdiocesan offices involved and coordinate the collection and reporting of data essential to strategic planning.

2. Coordinate the development and ongoing refinement of uniform reporting formats for parish reports.

3. Collaborate with Management Information Systems (MIS) in the ongoing development of the pastoral planning information published on the Archdiocesan website and the development of web based data gathering.

4. Assist in ongoing pastoral planning including regular cyclical parish and inter-parish (collaborative) pastoral planning by recruiting, coordinating and training process facilitators; the development, production, distribution, and training of planning instruments and procedures; and the provision of information to the planning groups.

5. Provide ongoing research to support the mission of the Church.
